Ciaran obtained his undergraduate Psychology degree from University College Dublin in 2008.

During his time at UCD, Ciaran completed a thesis which examined the link between body image and depression. He completed his Masters in Forensic Psychology at Coventry University in the United Kingdom in 2010. 

Ciaran’s MSc thesis focused on the effect the environment had on the perceptions of sexual harassing behaviour. Prior to his involvement with the CyberPsychology Research Centre, Ciaran volunteered with Save Our Sons and Daughters (SOSAD) as a suicide risk assessor which involved working face to face with clients who availed of the service.

As part of his training, Ciaran completed the Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST). He has also completed certificates in Children’s First and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention. Ciaran also received a diploma in Journalism at Independent Colleges.
